So, I spent a few days away getting other things situated and working on some preliminary research stuff for a project I've been working on intermitently over the last few weeks.

It felt good to be in a mode that I felt was making progress. Getting the critiques back from a colleague actually felt like a step in the right direction. There's nothing quite like constructive criticism to help you work out the issues on a writing project.

My husband and I watch American Idol every week; at least we have up to now. Frankly we were both entirely shocked by the results this week. It grated on my nerves that Michael Johns was eliminated while Ukelele Boy and little miss pop princess sat safely on the sofa. America definitely screwed up on that one. Honestly, I wonder if the general public would know musical talent if it came up and hit them in the face. Thusfar, I've seen nothing that remotely indicates a brain in the heads of the American public.

That's all I will say about that for fear of getting into a complete rant about the issue.

It's back to the drawing board for me this morning. I have lots of writing to do and not a lot of time to do it. I also have to call our realtor this morning to find out when we close on the house! Yep, looks like it's a done deal we're just waiting on the final paperwork to be filed and the official closing!

Have to say that I'm extremely happy about this bit of information. We've been waiting long enough for a house. Just somewhere to call our own for a change! So, Yay!
